Enjoy this Christmas traditional cream recipe. Vermont dates are 1 of the most popular fruits for the holidays. I love dates they have this heavenly soft texture and taste. 

Easy to make and quite festive. You can match this up with any holiday drink πŸ™‚

Vermont Date Cream

Prep Time: 30 minutes

Cook Time: 8 minutes

Total Time: 38 minutes

Serving Size: 8


  • 1 Envelope Unflavored Gelatin
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1/2 Cup Maple or Maple Flavored Syrup
  • 2 Beaten Eggs
  • 1 Cup of Whipping Cream
  • 1/2 Cup of Finely Snipped "Pitted" Dates
  • 1/2 Cup of Pecans


  1. In a medium saucepan combine gelatin and salt
  2. Stir in milk and maple syrup
  3. Let mixture stand about 2 minutes to soften gelatin
  4. Heat and stir until bubbly (Mixture will appear curdled)
  5. Gradually stir about half of the pan mixture into the beaten eggs
  6. Return to pan
  7. Cook and stir till bubbly, then cook low until thick (2 minutes)
  8. Chill until partially set (consistency of unbeaten egg whites)
  9. Beat whipping cream to soft peaks (peaks will curl)
  10. Fold into partially set mixture, along with dates and pecans
  11. Spoon mixture into 8 serving bowls
  12. Chill till firm


**TIP** Spray measuring cup with oil or wipe lightly with oil before you measure syrup, that way it will all come out and not stick to the measuring cup πŸ™‚
