Spicy Pumpkin Squares ~ Fall Festive Dessert



This recipe is older than the fad “Pumpkin Spice” and is quite yummy. My kids always seem to eat these quickly before I can hide them πŸ˜‰

Great for any fall occasion. Great pairing with Egg Nog or Pumpkin Spice Latte.

Spicy Pumpkin Squares ~ Fall Festive Dessert


  • 32 Large Marshmallows (about 3 1/2 Cups)
  • 1 Cup Canned Pumpkin
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Ginger
  • 1/8 tsp Ground Cloves
  • 1 Cup Crushed Graham Crackers (14 Crackers)
  • 1/4 Cup Butter or Margarine, Melted
  • 1 (1 1/4-ounce) Envelope Dessert Topping Mix


  1. In a large saucepan melt marshmallows with pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger and cloves over low heat
  2. Stir till smooth
  3. Cool for 15 minutes
  4. Meanwhile, combine crushed graham crackers and melted butter or margarine
  5. Reserve 1/4 cup for topping
  6. Pat remaining crumbs firmly into bottom of an 8x8x2-inch baking dish
  7. Prepare dessert topping mix according to package directions; fold into cooled marshmallow mixture
  8. Spread marshmallow mixture over crust
  9. Sprinkle reserved crumbs atop
  10. Chill several hours or overnight, to serve
  11. Cut into squares, when serving
