Personal Growth: Renewing your life

Personal Growth: Renewing your life

**Kind Warning.. For my friends and readers who do not follow the Bible, this article is full of biblical references for which I believe in. Again I do not judge anyone for their own beliefs. This is just my personal opinions and belief.

Psalm 103:1-5 ~ Bless the LORD, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with loving kindness and compassion; Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle 🦅

Cause + Effect = Renewal

Isn’t it amazing how God will and can pardon us for our sins? Doesn’t mean we can go out kill someone and expect to be forgiven however. There is always a cause and an effect when it comes to forgiveness and God’s will.

I cannot tell how many times in life I have messed up good. Good enough to never ever believe God would forgive me. But as I get into more of his word I am realizing that he does forgive as you make amends with him.

With your decisions (Cause) in life there is always a result (Effect) good or bad. I will use my last marriage as a short example.

Cause: Many times my own father and friends spoke up telling me that I shouldn’t marry this man for one reason or another. As any young 20 year old does I choose to ignore their cautions and married him, thinking I was the one who knew best and they were so far off on their assumptions on him.

**Remember the old saying “You can see from the outside but you are blind to the inside” well this story was to the T of that. **

Effect: 2 years into the marriage the chaos and effect of the signs I ignored began. He started to cheat on me, then there was verbal and mental abuse. Creating me as the monster to those outside our home, and him as the helpless soul. Few more years with drug usage from both sides comes the physical abuse and psychotic break downs. I thought in order to get his love and devotion was to partake in his drugs of choice. Voices inside of me told me I was only killing myself and my self worth, but again I ignored and fell further away from God. I finally listened to God and broke free from the “Effect” after 16 years of self inflicted suffering.

How to turn your own “Cause” and “Effect” into a lesson and be Redeemed from the Pit.

Above underlined words are referenced to the verse in the beginning of this text. God knows our troubles, he sees our turmoils and our iniquities. If we come to him with an open mind and heart he will pull us out of our  pit “Effects” and redeem us with a renewed life. It is not just a prayer that will set you free however…

We must dig deep within ourselves, wake up to what burdens us and our life. Take account to the negatives but also pay attention to what signs (Cause) that were given to you to prevent the chaotic (Effects) events in your life. By doing this you are retraining yourself to be vigilant of the signs to your potential choices.

God will set forth a renewed life path and communication portal for you, if you walk with him each day of your life. Every day is a learning process and it takes baby steps. God does not want to force you to become or be someone he wants, instead he offers you with open hands the opportunity to become someone within him.

Work on you, learn each day something new that is positive and humble. Do not be overconsumed with other people’s or material negative impacts. Do not look to others to fix you, you are here to live your life as God’s child and learn to fix yourself. Step away if you have to, make space to discover and learn to renew YOU.

God does give us signs to keep us from the “Effects” and as his children we must learn to be silent and open, to heed those signs and not ignore them.

It is not a instant renewal or a instant fix. That is why it is called Personal Growth. We are learning every day, hour, and second to become the person we were to be, before all the chaos.

2 Corinthians 4:16~ Therefore we do not give up; even though our outer person is being destroyed, our inner person is being renewed day by day.
