“Clafouti” is the french word for a fruit pudding that is made with a rich batter.

Great classic for any holiday setting. Garnish with whipped cream or caramel sauce if desired.

Pear Clafouti ~ Festive French Fruit Pudding

Pear Clafouti ~ Festive French Fruit Pudding

Ingredients

  • 3 Medium Pears, Peeled, Cored, and Chopped, or 1 29-Ounce Can Pears, Drained and Chopped
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 1/4 Cups Milk
  • 1/2 Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/3 Cup Sugar
  • 2 tsp Vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp Rum Extract
  • 1/8 tsp Salt
  • 1/8 tsp Ground Nutmeg
  • Whipped Cream ( Optional )

Instructions

  1. In small mixer bowl beat eggs until foamy
  2. Add milk, flour, sugar, vanilla, rum extract, salt and nutmeg
  3. Beat at low speed till smooth
  4. Place pears in greased 10-Inch quiche dish or pie plate
  5. Pour batter over pears
  6. Bake in 350* degree oven for 50 - 60 Minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean
  7. Let Stand 15 Minutes

Notes

If using canned pears, place pears on paper towels to drain thoroughly
