Very yummy-licous. Makes 8 to 10 Servings, plenty for 2nds 🙂

Java-Rum Mocha Torte

Java-Rum Mocha Torte

Ingredients

  • 1 Purchased Pound Cake, Fast start on this Festive Torte (please see note on post)
  • 2 Tbs Instant Coffee Crystals
  • 2 Tbs Rum
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 2 Tbs Butter or Margarine
  • 1 (1 1/4-Ounce) Envelope Dessert Topping Mix

Instructions

    Prepare Coffee Mixture as follows:
  1. In a small Saucepan combine sugar, 1/2 cup water and coffee crystals
  2. Bring to boil, Boil hard for 3 minutes, Stirring Occasionally, Remove from Heat
  3. Stir in Rum and Butter or Margarine
  4. Cool 5 minutes
  5. Prepare Topping Mix as follows:
  6. Prepare according to Topping package directions
  7. Prepare Cake as follows:
  8. Slice Cake Lengthwise into 3 Layers
  9. Slowly Spoon 3 Tbs of the Coffee Mixture over Bottom Layer
  10. Spread with One-Third of the Topping
  11. Stack Middle Layer atop Bottom Layer, repeat above
  12. Spoon 3 Tbs of the Coffee Mixture over Cut Surface of the Top Layer
  13. Invert and Place Atop Stack
  14. Spread Remainder of Whipped Topping Atop of Cake
  15. Bring Remaining Coffee Mixture to a Boil; Hard Boil for 1 Minute, Stirring Constantly
  16. Cool 5 to 10 Minutes
  17. Drizzle over top of Torte
  18. Chill (30 Minutes or More)

*Note.. If you can not find a chocolate/Vanilla pound cake at your local store, any pound chocolate/vanilla pound cake recipe will work for this. Also you can split this up and make just a Java-Rum Torte with a vanilla pound cake or a Java-Rum Mocha Torte with just a chocolate pound cake. You can make this in 3 ways and still comes out yummy
